» Weight restrictions for horses.?

I weigh around 100 kilograms (220 lbs/pounds). I understand that horses can comfortably carry 20% of their own body weight, so how heavy should the horse I buy be?You would need a horse that is 1100 lbs. Most horses in this range are 15hh+ Do be aware that the 20% rule came out of old calvary guidelines for the average fit and experienced horse and rider doing long hours over varied terrain at varied speeds. And will be prone to change based on horse and rider condition and activities. A few things to consider: A horse in excellent physical condition who is kept very fit and strong can comfortably carry more weight than an old horse, or one that is out of shape. A horse with a short broad back will generally carry more weight t...... - 2010-03-10

» Rainbow Flower In My Lens.. HELP!!!

I went out today to take some shots of the sunset but when I put my 70-200mm sigma with my 2X on it It look like there as a rainbow flower in the lens. like a lens flare but a lot of them very small in a flower shape. My D70 would not let me take a shot and the only thing that was flashing on the LCD was Auto ISO. I put my 50mm on and it was fine, I took off the 2X and my 70-200mm was fine. I took on and off the 2X a few times and put the lens on my camera, checking each time and then The strange flare was gone. Also when the rainbow flower was there everything else in the shot was very dark, the flower was about 1/3 or more of the view finder. Has anyone seen this or know what this is or should I just stop taking drugs if I did take...... - 2010-03-10

» Improve spleen

My spleen is not functioning well. I had it diagnosed by a chinese doctor, the spleen pulse was weak. How can I improve my spleen naturally. supplements etc. yoga exercises?Did the doctor give any suggestions as to what to do? Was he or she even concerned about it? I'm not sure what "the spleen pulse was weak" means -- perhaps you should go back and discuss this more with that doctor.the spleen acts to filter out old blood cells; and it is part of the immune system. Western medicine would say there is no way to evaluate either of those functions except by certain blood tests. Some alternative medicine approaches clearly have merit. Some do not. You will need to decide for yourself if you wish to consider such an evaluation as you d...... - 2010-03-10

» Replacing C using clone in Norton Ghost 2003, W2K SP4, PIII IBM T21

I have an IBM ThinkPad T21 (PIII) w/ a tiny (12 GB) HDD. Both W2K & XP Prof are installed on the same partition. My wife has complicated connections to schools she no longer goes to & the connections could not be re-established/configured again if I lost the current settings on this disk. Unfortunately, some of these connections work on W2K, others on XP, so I would like to keep both operating systems, as is. On the other hand, the disk is just too small even for apps. I bought a new 60 GB 7200 RPM Hitachi 2.5" HDD & I want to clone (using Norton Ghost 2003) the current internal 12 GB C: HDD (w/ all settings, exact copy) onto the new disk, which I could connect (in an external enclosure) up via FireWire for the time of cloning. Then I would...... - 2010-03-10

Lambert opened an office Monday for the team, which consists of four local scientists and one from the US, plus support staff. I submitted a ticket yesterday to vb support after purchasing vbblog for the sole purpose of importing from vbjournal. It is not working at all. I downloaded / re-uploaded impex fresh also. Unfortunately support is being horrible right now (one specific tech at least) and no resolution overall. I'm being treated like a fool in the ticket which is not quite why I paid $50 for. I uninstalled the blog product and reinstalled. That cleared the mysql content for the vbblog. there's 3x the surface area at corners than there are on a face, so they erode faster, there's 2x the surface area on sides, so they will also erode faster than faces - eventually, the rock will become entirely spherical if it's homogeneous, if it's not - then it will take on a roughly spherical shape.mechanical weathering - any protruding edges/sides are preferential weathered which in turn gradually make the rock rounder. I'm using an HP Pavilion 4540 with the monitor that came with it. The contrast is set too high. As a result, the shady areas of many pictures appear pitch black. When I try to adjust the contrast using the buttons on the monitor, all I can do is make the screen darker. I'm running Windows 2000. I used to have Windows 98, and, in that OS, I think there was a way of adjusting the contrast in some control menu, but I have yet to find something like that in Win 2k. Any ideas on how to fix my monitor's contrast? As you're probably aware, brightness controls should be used to adjust the 'black point' of the monitor; i.e. you want the brightness set to the highest level that still keeps solid black, black. » Which was your best moment in cricket?

In which your favorite team wasn't involved? The NZ vs England match where Nathan Astle scored the fastest double century ever in tests. 200 off just 152 balls. He ended up with 222. The 4th innings target for NZ was 550. They came 98 short. Chris Cairns came to bat at No.11 with a severe injury. The target was well out of NZ's reach but Astle with Cairns almost pulled off a miracle. Its perhaps, one of the greatest single handed fighting innings in 4th innings you will ever see. Edit: People, please read the question. It says it doesnt involve your favorite team. Then why are some people still posting incidents about their own team??Sri Lanka won the toss in the final and sent Australia in to bat despite the team batting fi...... - 2010-03-10

» What makes someone's experiences and backgound different from preconceptions?

I was thinking that experience and background do not effect one's preconception because preconception is when you know nothing about it. Is there anymore reason to support this?Narfiaska, I'd say just the opposite... Preconception is when you DO know (or think you know) something about "it" ("it" being whatever) - however wrong or misguided what you think you know actually is. If you truly know nothing about "it", then you can have no opinion, no prejudice, no preconception. Then there is the problem of those who continue in their preconceptions, regardless of evidence to the contrary - try looking up "belief perseverance", and especially the work of C.A. Anderson. (nursing school, having kids...) Anyway, I'm at the point where I'm ready to go to the next step with my photography. There are a couple reasons for this. Mainly, because I have done everything I can do with my Nikon coolpix 5200 and I'm bored with it. It's time for me to progress into a digital SLR. I take many pictures (of my family and scenery mostly) and am becoming disappointed in how they turn out. I am doing everything right, but the camera is just so limited in what you can do with it. Hair ALWAYS looks better if it's blow dried properly (not air dried) and then straightened. Honestly trust me 100% it will look better guaranteed, you will have a healthier and shinier (depending on shampoos, conditioners or serums you use) look to it and smoother for sure, because whilst straightening it, it will flatten the cuticles of your hair back down (gives a smooth looked). » What is meant by "Artifacting" ?

I have no idea what it means.I think this is where the compression in files like JPEG files creates 'patterns' on a picture due to the amount of compression, the less of these 'artifacts' the better. Someone more experienced should be along shortly to give you a proper explanation hopefully! :)Assuming you are talking about "lossy" files like JPEGS, it means that there are "flaws" in the picture caused by compression... the more compressed something is, the more "flaws" there are...http://dpfwiw.com/images/jpeg_artifacts.jpg From HERE (http://dpfwiw.com/exposure.htm)Using very high quality settings and even after a couple saves, you shouldn't see any artifacting like that in a JPEG photo. But yes, that's what (jpeg) artifacting is.the ...... - 2010-03-10

» When people decide to blame Bush for Iraq why do you think they leave out Congress?

Most of them voted for it as well.Because it is an "inconvienient truth" that the majority of Congressman supported the war. Quotes from Democrats supporting the invasion are easy to find on the internet. By the way, every western intelligence agency on the globe thought Saddam had WMD's, as did his own generals. There is no need to rewrite history, except to distort it to meet ones needs. Stan: That begs the question, why do radio intercepts from during the invasion portray Saddam's generals asking for access to the chemical weapons?Because Bush gets something called the PDB (Presidential Daily Brief) which members of Congress do not get to see. This is as it should be, because we'd have no security at all i...... - 2010-03-10

» Yahoo e-mail replies to invalid address?

My partner uses yahoo mail and I usually do not (though I do have an account). When I send her a message, and she hits reply, composes her message, and then sends it, the message goes to an invalid address @yahoo.com. I tried this myself using both e-mail addresses (yahoo and non-yahoo) and got the same result. Specifically: I send a message from "abcd@provider.com" to my yahoo address "abcd@yahoo.com". It arrives in my Yahoo inbox. I reply, and the message goes to the e-mail address "xyz@yahoo.com", which does not exist. My partner experiences the exact same scenario when I send her a message from my non-Yahoo address, and sends a reply. Hope you can help. This is the problem with your computer. Please update your anti-virus. Do clear your ...... - 2010-03-10

» I dont really exercise...but i do walk and push my 3 yr old stroller everywhere w/ her.?

but how much do i have to walk for it to be effective for me???Any exercise is good for you. Start out slow and then gradually build up your speed. Eventually your body will become accustomed to that speed. You then need to push yourself. What you should do is weight lift. By adding muscle you will burn more calories. Even when you are sleeping. Remember muscle mass weighs more than fat. Don't panic if your weight goes up. It is natural. Good LuckI successfully maintain normal blood sugar levels w/o medication by walking about an hour to an hour and a half a day in combination with a very healthy diet. I would say that anything over a half hour a day will contribute greatly toward lowering blood sugar. This is a case where the m...... - 2010-03-10

» Make money as a Photographer

I am fairly new into Photography. I got my first DSLR in Nov 2006 and now i have an array of various lens and flash. I have tried istock.com and shutterstocks.com and have not been able to get any of my pics accepted. Whats a good way to make money as a photographer? I mostly into landscapes and scenery photography. I would appreciate any advice!!with those sorts of photos you could try stalls at fairgrounds - try to have some cheaper things as well (like postcards and such) as well as large prints. That way you can make up if you don't manage to sell and expensive framed print with more minor sales. After that a local art house or display might also be a possibility.Hmm....I will that....I am currently overseas. when I return maybe I v...... - 2010-03-10

» The Soulless Asian; Asian versus Western

The Soulless Asian; Asian versus Western I lived Asia two years (1980-1981) I find the following about Asia (Japan, China, and Korea) - -> Hard working - -> Money is everything - -> Money is first, pollution of my neighborhood, who cares, if not in my yard - -> Not as "artsy" and deep thinkers as Westerners (rarely procude a "Kurt Vonnegut" or "Hunter S. Thompson") - -> Believe order is more important than pseudo-controlled chaos (good for dealing with crime, bad for storming ideas in a meeting) - -> Women exist mostly for pleasure (I don't know how Asian Men raise daughters) - -> Their economy are the worlds worst polluters (If Asians ran the world, the last tree and last fish in the ocean would be gon...... - 2010-03-10

are girls with alot of piercings unattractive?!?!no i think it's hotyesMore than 5 might be a bit muchDepends on the girl. She can either make it look sexy, or she can make it look like shes on her way to a goth club. Unless you're into that kind of thing. If I was a guy I'd find them unattractive. This question is one of perspective and perspective is personal. so since your asking personally i think it has to do solely about placement where they are located on your person my girlfriend of 2 years has her ears pierced (as most girls do) and navel and she looks perfect i would not approve of her putting holes all over her face, If she did would i still have pursued her yes cause im a guy and i have a penis, but take it from me ...... - 2010-03-10

» Creating Objects in AS2.0 OOP technique

I am currently trying to teach myself OOP with AS 2.0, but I have hit a wall. I have a ball class that currently just creates a movieclip and places it on screen. I also have a Game class that creates the different balls. I am trying to make it so that the balls are created and named on the fly. My problem is that there is no reference to the ball being created. I even tried storing it in an Array, but when I reference the Array positions I get Undefined just like if I try referencing the O_ball[bname] bname is just a variable holding the string that puts the namne togther. 3 balls are created successfully but how do I reference them or name them If I try to do it any other way I get no such property errors. I am also almost done ...... - 2010-03-10

» HELP!! beginner needs camera advice!

I'm a beginner and am interested in landscape photography, but I want to use the camera for other photographs as well. What is a good camera for under $600 that will provide sharp images?? I have been kind of reading about the Canon 30D and 40D but I don't really know much about the lenses to get with it. Those seem to be the camera's I hear about the most. Those and the Nikon's anyway. The ones that I have been leaning toward so far are the G9 and the Rebel XTi. Any thoughts on those? If you are aiming for a DSLR in that price range of 600$ then a Rebel XTi with the kit lens for start, it`s a great choice. The G9 is a "point and shoot" camera and it`s very different from a DSLR (the main difference is the interchangeable lenses). 30D and 4...... - 2010-03-10

Enjoy, Tim Samaras WJ0GAlan runs an excellent site; a great source of mobile information. » Where does the surname dearden come from?

where does the surname dearden come from? anyone know?I found this for you. Surname: Dearden This interesting name, with variant spellings Durden and Duerden is of Anglo-Saxon origin and is locational from a place in Lancashire (near Edenfield) called "Dearden". The name derives from the Old English pre 7th Century "deor" meaning a beast or deer, and "denu", a valley, thus, "the valley of the deer". Locational surnames were developed when former inhabitants of a place moved to another area, usually to seek work, and were best identified by the name development since 1579 (see below) includes the following: Elizabeth Dearden (1630, Chester), Edward Duerden (1631, Chester) and Robert Durden (1646, Chester). hello... i'm interested in macro photography, mainly for biological articles on ants. therefore, i wanted a good camera, with a good macro to capture the ant and detail on the leaf she's on. in this example http://www.theteh.com/html/3rd_350d_49.html things are too much out of focus, that's no good for me http://www.theteh.com/html/3rd_350d_54.html this one also has too little "field depth" i need a powerful macro, with a big field depth. it would also be good if i could stay a little further away from the ant, so i don't accidentaly frighten it. i think nikkon d80 and canon rebel xti are good choices, but i can't decide between the two. choosing the lenses is hard too. do you have any suggestions or advice? thanks in advanceWel...... - 2010-03-10
