I have noted that journals and newspaper put their articles into columns, and that often, reports, are not put into columns. I imagine that journals and newspapers use columns in their layout for various reasons. My question is what cognitive pyschology research shows regarding what the best column width is for ease of reading and optimum comprehension.Hi, prometheus-u, I'm interested in this question too. Well, i decided to make a script, that you can play Hang-Man on! Yada yada yada.. But im stuck. I need to be able to pull the word from a DB(already done) but the hard part is, the user has to be able to Guess that word through letters.. Is there a way u can split that word up? Maybe like a search function, er something?:(I believe you're looking for str_split(), which turns "String!" into {"S","t","r","i","n","g","!"}. However, I would just use the stristr function, which is a case-insensitive searche for a string inside another string. A few weeks ago I bought myself a lovely new lens..... It was about 48 hours later that my computer crashed (... A G A I N ...) and after a lot of soul searching (That would be the Nat West Soul (English joke... the Nat West is a bank )). I found that the easy way out would be to buy a new computer. A low spec machine, but still better than my old creaky one. And as it is new I can rely on it more... not to mention that it comes with a guarentee. So the first day I was back in the darkroom to print in about 10 years (this was about a month ago) I had several prints where I was getting little brownish spots on them. Now I know it wasn't a washing issue, because I noticed the spots on one of them while it was in the stop bath. So I'm thinking maybe I got some fix or one of the other chemicals on my hands, and then onto the paper when I pulled it out to expose? Thoughts? While painting behind the refrigerator I removed the back of the unit and vaccumed off the coils. I noticed in the downstairs bathroom that the vanity doors were mis-aligned, I aligned them. Then as luck would have it there was a guy next door powerwashing a house. He asked me to pass out some of his cards. Hi guys, I have a panoramic photo that a few people want to order framed. The size of the print is 10x30 and the only premade frames I can find are 11 3/4 x 36...and I dont want to get them specially made b/c it will be like $100 compared to $20 for the premade. Do you think that it would look alright to mat the photo with 3in borders on the sides and 1in top/bottom? I was thinking with a black mat and frame it might not look that bad. I've read somewhere that you're supposed to cut them, but how and with what? Beeswax candles are expensive for this reason. Cut it with a pocket or utility knife; while holding the candle over the trash container. The large pillar candles need to be burned for a good length of time, each time, to burn best. Racking my brains here - 5 days now. Installed 2.0.1 version of VB and wanting to make switch from UBB. As expected, since this is an APACHE based php, VB is opening an httpd process, but, it NEVER DIES until I physically reboot httpd via telnet. One httpd process (or more if I move around in the program) lingers forever and ends up using every bit of CPU usage. This happens when I go anywhere in the program (it doesn't matter which page). Well, i decided to make a script, that you can play Hang-Man on! Yada yada yada.. But im stuck. I need to be able to pull the word from a DB(already done) but the hard part is, the user has to be able to Guess that word through letters.. Is there a way u can split that word up? Maybe like a search function, er something?:(I believe you're looking for str_split(), which turns "String!" into {"S","t","r","i","n","g","!"}. However, I would just use the stristr function, which is a case-insensitive searche for a string inside another string. For instance, if they guess A and the word is hangman, stristr("hangman","A") would return "angman". If the word was "Bob Hope", it would return FALSE. Hope this helps! So the first day I was back in the darkroom to print in about 10 years (this was about a month ago) I had several prints where I was getting little brownish spots on them. Now I know it wasn't a washing issue, because I noticed the spots on one of them while it was in the stop bath. Hi guys, I have a panoramic photo that a few people want to order framed. The size of the print is 10x30 and the only premade frames I can find are 11 3/4 x 36...and I dont want to get them specially made b/c it will be like $100 compared to $20 for the premade. I've read somewhere that you're supposed to cut them, but how and with what? Beeswax candles are expensive for this reason. Cut it with a pocket or utility knife; while holding the candle over the trash container. The large pillar candles need to be burned for a good length of time, each time, to burn best. The first time you light it is especially important. You need to burn a 3" diameter candle for 3 hours minimum (4 inch, 4 hours, etc) the first time so that the whole center of the top of the candle melts. Racking my brains here - 5 days now. Installed 2.0.1 version of VB and wanting to make switch from UBB. As expected, since this is an APACHE based php, VB is opening an httpd process, but, it NEVER DIES until I physically reboot httpd via telnet. One httpd process (or more if I move around in the program) lingers forever and ends up using every bit of CPU usage. This happens when I go anywhere in the program (it doesn't matter which page). I do not have it live since that would kill the server in just a few seconds. I will be washing the walls and ceiling down with sugar soap (which should, in theory, remove the stains. The walls are a combination of wallpapered (which I will be stripping and painting over) and painted with acrylic paint.
