Have him checked out by the vet.
loosing weight? sounds serious i hope your cat gets well
Personally, I'm not sure I believe in ghosts or spirits, but there is enough anecdotal evidence throughout the centuries that claim cats can see into or manifestations from a nether, other world. Cats have an uncanny sixth sense, which is why they were important familiars for witches, wiccans, sorcerers, and those who delved into the spirit world.
That said, there are other reasons that your cats could act as if they are seeing ghosts, and that is the nature of cats' eyes. Their vision is not acute, but are able to discern light variances that we cannot, so something like car lights two blocks away can be enough of a variation that they notice them. Cats are also subject to a myriad of eye problems, including "floaters" (tiny globs of gel in the vitreous, benign and not serious) and the cats try to follow these floaters which makes their eyes dart about the room as if they are looking at some being floating, but of course can't, and it freaks them out. There are also certain parasites and worms that can work their way into a cat's eye which will make the cat act as if they are seeing ghosts.
In any event, the fact that one cat seems to be stressing is sufficient to stress the other one as cats are very sensitive to emotional stress in humans and other animals.
You might just want to have your cat checked by a vet to make sure there isn't some kind of ocular (eye) issue that could be causing this. You can try a de-ghosting yourself by sprinkling sea salt around the outside of your house and burning sage in the rooms you think the ghost might frequent, otherwise you might want to contact a psychic.
Try diverting your cat's attention with cat nip (this can also calm them) and talking to them soothingly when this happens. The weight loss might be due to something else, so do plan on a vet check up.
Good luck.
