Just over a month ago my boy had a small tumour in his mouth, found during routine dental work, diagnosed as malignant. Two weeks ago his right eye was found to have a scratch on the eyeball. This is healing, gradually, but his other eye is 'reacting' and neither wants to open properly, in repose.
He has been treated by my vet but I'm now concerned that this eye problem might have deeper implications - ie has the mouth tumour 'spread' to involve his brain?
What symptoms do dogs with brain tumours exhibit? Helpful information would be appreciated.Mine had seizures but no other outward symptoms.I had an English Bull Terrier ***** with this problem. Her nature didn't change. If she over exerted herself, she would collapse, with her legs stiff out in front of her. If she was left for a couple of minutes she would pull round.
In her case, she learned to slow herself down when she felt the fit coming on.
Hope, if yours does have this, that he can self-regulate as she did.Thankfully, I've never had a dog with a brain tumour but have known a number of people who have. Behaviour changes - usually aggression, have been a sign, also nose bleeds and fits.
I have known of dogs with mouth tumours - they haven't spread to the brain even when left untreated (because it was left too late)
An eye infection in one eye often affects the other eye too.
Hope you are worrying unnecessarily!yeh, ours had seizures. this can just be twitching or it can go full force! it could also be different behavior,or any unusual signs.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
