I am moving to Texas in the summer and starting a new school! Advice please!!?

  • I am moving to Houston, Texas in the summer and I am KIND OF excited and sad at the same time. I will miss some of my friends and I will miss my cousin too! Well, I need some advice! In the school I am at right now, I am SUPER shy and I don't really talk in school and I hate all the mean people and stuff and I just hate it and I am glad i am moving. Have any tips on how to make me more confident and more talkative in school next year? I am totally horrified that I have to face this whole school year with all the bullies!

    does anyone live in texas? is it cool there with nice people?

    if you need help with picking schools type in the school district on google or some search site and itll bring up EVERY school in the district you looked up

  • I live in New Mexico but you'll find there are lots of friendly people in the Southwest.

    Just smile at people and don't be afraid to say "Hi, I'm so-and-so (insert your name there) and I'm new." Ask people for directions "How do I find the library?" and stuff like that. Ask people if you can sit with them at lunch. At worst, they'll say "no" but if they say "yes" then it's the 1st step to making new friends.


  • I live in Texas and it is a nice place, but don't try to change to impress anyone. If they don't like you for who you are, they're not worth knowing.
    I don't live in Houston but very close (I live with the cows and horses, not the traffic!) but I still can't tell you if there are nice people. Of course there will be nice people, but there will be jerks to and there's no place you can go where there won't be.
    Just be yourself and try not to worry about it.
