I used my regular birth control, plan b and he pulled out?

  • so i had unprotected sex twice in one night
i was on the second pill of my inactive pills (i'm taking tri cyclen lo) and i guess you are supposed to be protected even during the inactive pills, and seeing as it was only my second day i should have been. I didn't miss any pills, and maybe took two like an hour late during my last pack.

he pulled out both times but I wanted to be sure so the next day i went and got plan b, i took it within the 24 hours we had sex

since i'm on my inactive pills, i'm supposed to get my period, but since i took plan b is this going to delay it? it's the 6th day now and i still haven't gotten my period so i'm starting to get worried
i normally do't get my period until the 4th or 5th pill but there is only one more green pill left until i start taking the active pills again

  • I'm a little confused by your question but I think getting to the nitty gritty of things you are still protected if you are using your pills accurately. You should be taking them consecutively for three weeks following with one week of your inactive pills.

For a few years I had no idea that you could continue to have sex because I thought you weren't protected either. I've been on a few different kinds including the one you are on and nowhere on the package does it say that you are protected even when you are on your inactive pills or week without anything. This is partially due to your estrogen levels being high and your body is tricked into thinking it is already pregnant and does not ovulate.

Keep in mind that when you are stressed, it can also delay your period. So relax, you're most likely protected.

  • If you are taking birth control pills and have taken them properly, then you are protected against pregnancy. Making your boyfriend pull out doesn't add any protection whatsoever. I thought part of the reason to take birth control pills is so that he doesn't need to pull out any longer.

You are still covered during the inactive pills (whoever told women there are 'inactive' pills in a pack of birth control really confused them).

The Plan B was WAY OVERKILL. Plan B is FOR UNPROTECTED intercouse - NOT PROTECTED. I hope millions of women read that. The plan B is a big dose of hormones and will really mess up your cycle.

There is almost no chance you are pregnant (you would have better odds of winning the lottery at this point). You don't need to be worried, but you really messed your cycle up by doing the plan B.

    good luck!
