Hello Guys
Frayer is 1 of 4 cats, and i think it was her who did the deed....
you know the elastic net you get round a joint of beef, well she eat the lot, got it out of the bin, she is not showing any signs of stress or anything, do i let nature take its course or do i get her to the vets...
many thanksno you don't need to take the cat to the vets my cats did the same so i rang the vet they sed it will come out on its own but just keep a close eye on your cat.just keep a eye on her accidents happen. nature will do the deed just make sure if you can to check her toilet.if she changes take her to the vet.she sounds okey though. If it was me, I would keep an eye on her over night - if she seems fine then I would let nature take it's course but if at any point she seems unwell then get yourself to the vet as soon as you can (depending on how urgent you feel it is).
If you consider it an emergency then go straight away, if you are just a little anxious then it can wait until morning and you can call and make an appointment. Just watch her for now though, if she isn't showing any sign of stress then I am sure she'll be fine.Phone the vet about this--at home if need be. String and cat intestines are a #1 danger. Your vet should have their home number in the white pages of the phone book. This could be potentially very life threatening--contact them first.Get her to the vet. Butcher's twine (or netting) is scary because it can become tangled in the intestines and cause a blockage or cut off circulation. Get her to the vet ASAP- her life might depend on it.
Should she begin to pass any of the string before you get her to the vet, don't pull, just snip very close to the anus. Pulling can harm the cat's insides.vets- if it gets caught in something or gets stuck in her intestine, it could cause alot more problems then at the moment, and could also cost you alot more then it would do now.
You say you "Think", are you sure? the vet will likely do a scan/xray and this will cost you- so be choosy about which cat you take to the vet!I agree that you need to get her seen by a vet. Linear foreign bodies (string, yarn, leashes, socks, etc) can wind around and even cut through the intestines. I hope you're sure which one ate it, or you really ought to have all of them get an x-ray.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
