[Mod] phpLD Page Rank Update Tool
Posted on January 7th, 2009 by mike
Updates links with actual current page rank.
Choose a variable number of links to update at once.
Reset option to allow updating with latest page rank.
Update feature available in admin section only.
Compatible with phpLD V2.00 and phpLD V3.06 (slightly different install process for each).
And its free too!
Only 5 simple steps are required to install the mod! If you want to see what it looks like when installed, check out the PR Update Tool Screenshot (http://www.directoryspy.com/images/download_prupdate_screenshot.png).
You can download the modification over at DirectorySpy.com (http://www.directoryspy.com/2006/12/30/phpld-pagerank-updater/)
In addition, i dont understand the part about:
4) In phpMyAdmin or a similar tool, with your link table,
execute the following SQL:
ALTER TABLE `PLD_LINK` ADD `PR_UPDATED` TINYINT DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL;
finally (i think) is there is some sort of message displayed when its completed?
Email notifications. :)
Not quite, but its obvious when its completed. I did actually forget to put in a completed message. A feature for V1.01 :)
i was like staring at that screen for close to 10 mins to see whats happening and didnt realize it had done its job :D
where is the donate button?
nevermind.. i found it :D
Thank you very much for the contribution! :) It keeps the mod free for everyone!
This is definitely something to consider throwing into 3.07
It seems nothing changed in my direcotry :(
Thanks!
I've checked some URLs at mypagerank.net or prchecker.info and show real PR0. Now I dont know how to undo my directory :(
will do, ty
2) Add extra menu code to "init.php" which is usually in the
/admin/ subfolder of the phpLD installation.
code in "to go into init.php".
Where exactly do i place the code in the init.php file? anywhere?
Ohhh ok... you should change the text file and say that the person should open the to go into init.php file.. i didnt see it before
Apologies for the delay. I didn't get a notification by email for the post.
As I said in the PM (for everyone else's benefit)
That means that the dir_prupdate.php file is not in the /admin directory. A 404 file not found response will return you to the main directory page. Therefore check that dir_prupdate.php exists. If you still have problems, you can email me your admin and ftp login details and I can take a look.
I downloaded your mod and added your link in my best directory, Anto Web Index (http://www.antodirectory.com/) under Tools & Resources. Will test it out.
That's very much appreciated, thank you.
Thanks!

Question: does this update the PR of all links or only the active links?
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/daniel/public_html/blogcoll/admin/dir_prupdate_status.php on line 84
any ideas how to fix that?
I checked several Data Centers today and they're still erratic... in all honesty, give it a week. People will understand that there's an update in progress (if they're in the loop and care) and directories may be reporting false pageranks for a while. I usually wait until all the datacenters that I know of all report back the same pagerank. A good site to use is:
http://livepr.raketforskning.com/
Anyone know what happened to digpagerank.com?
will this run in the background when the browser window is closed? or do we have remain logged in until this finishes?
This tool update PR not exactly. Some URL PR0 but after use this tool, PR has been updated to PR5 or PR6.
I've checked some URLs at mypagerank.net or prchecker.info and show real PR0. Now I dont know how to undo my directory :(
I use a 3rd party script to determine the PR. It works on most servers, but there does appear to be a handful of servers for which it doesn't work. I have no idea how to fix this, I'm sorry!
Man i only wished this worked for 3.0.1 .. :( ..
Works perfectly on 3.0.6, and I've heard reports it's fine on 3.1.0. Why not just upgrade to 3.1.0? It's worth the effort!
Thanks for sharing

Of course it works!! I wrote it! :)
I'm glad you like it. Although it'd be useful in 3.07, I'd only be interested in doing that if a link to DirectorySpy.com remained.
I designed it to be really easy to install, so even novices should have no problem installing it.
finally (i think) is there is some sort of message displayed when its completed?
I installed PHPLD 2.1 and its working fine..
http://www.ebusiness-index.com
Problem is the PR is not updating for all websites.. all showing as N/A
I uploaded the DirectorySPy tool.. but it too not working.. when im giving the Update PR.. No response there.. im seeing just a blank page..
Can you help me?

Hi,
The only line of code that should go in the init.php should be everything after the */. Just the single line of code.
Regarding the phpMyAdmin tool that's a tool needed to edit your mysql database. I could write code to do it for you, but that would be harder than the SQL step. The mod does require a certain amount of knowledge.

Dan

The browser has to stay open. But you can select to only update 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 at a time. Therefore you can control how many you update and do it when you feel like it.
But fully working on my directory
