I made chicken and dumplings yesterday after not having made it for a long time. Today the dumplings are almost as hard as a rock. No leftovers for me :( I use Bisquick and milk to make the dumplings, but I never measure it. Did I use too much/too little milk? (I made it the same way I used to, and have never had this happen.)
Thanks :DLook on the Bisquick box...There is a 1-800-#. They used to have a recipe for "drop biscuits" on the box. They removed it. If you call the 1-800-# they have all the recipes you could need. Just ask about dumplings. Did you stir them too much? That is the only thing I can think of that would make them hard.Having had experience with this, I bet your Bisquick was too old; it loses "pep" after some time. You can still use it, but to assure light dumplings next time, put in a half teaspoon of baking soda; that will liven it back up.That is why I stick with chinese dumplings, because I don't know how to make them.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
